They don’t! According to our laws of Physics, the First Law of Thermodynamics, heat moves in the direction of colder matter, not in the reverse. Don’t open the window on a hot night, you will let the heat into the house, (grade 12 Physics). This is a commonly known fact. The Zeroth Law of Thermodynamics (the law of thermal equilibrium) states that  “heat will always flow in a direction from hot objects to colder ones, but never the other way around.” There can be no defiance of our laws of Physics in this regard. Any metallic object in the thermosphere would burn!
