7 Steps  to Figure Out Your Career

Success can be interpreted in many different ways. One can consider their child their greatest success while another may consider their multi-million dollar empire to be the shining legacy of their life, but in terms of career, you can’t get more cut and dry. Success really comes down to how content you are with your position and wealth – if, for some reason, you’re not content with where you are, don’t fret – we’ve got you covered. Here are 7 steps to figure out your career.

  1. Evaluate Your Skills

Finding your career isn’t as easy as it sounds, especially if you’re trying to figure out exactly how to do something you love and make money from it at the same time. The first thing you should do is figure out what you’re good at. If you know how to evaluate your inherit skills, you’ll be on your way on how to choose your career.

  1. Build a Resume

One of the biggest factors that play into how to figure out your career is the legitimacy of your paperwork. Make sure your resume, cover letter, and overall sense of self are in check and ready to show future employers. If you’re more interested in a solo career, even better because that means you’ve realized exactly what you want to do!

  1. Have a Good Attitude

Your career is like a flower – it needs watering, care, but most importantly a positive attitude in order for it to fully bloom. Choose your career wisely, but always remember that a cheery disposition can go a long way, especially when you’re meeting new people that can potentially make your dream come true.

  1. Embrace Failure

When the world is coming at you full throttle, it’s vital to remember not to simply move out of the way, but to charge at it just as fast. All roads to success are paved with past failures, which means yours should be to. The more times you fail, the closer you are to your career, each wound making you a stronger and more powerful individual.

  1. Don’t Limit Yourself

Although you may have a specific idea of what your career entails, try not to limit yourself. There are many ways to figure out your career, but none of them involve the nuisance of being arrogant. Be open-minded to the fact that there may be a position or niche out there that is similar to what you want, but not quite on the money. And who knows? Maybe this job could lead to the big one.

  1. Pick Something Fun

It may be asking a lot for certain desperate adults, but the old saying that doing something you love makes it to where you never work a day in your life is true. How to figure out your career isn’t dependent on picking the right choice, but the one that will keep you young. The one that will make sure your heart and soul are intact at the end of the day. Remember to pick something fun and to not put your career ahead of everything and everyone.

  1. Smile

As mentioned earlier, a positive attitude goes a long way, but being content is the true and unanimous goal for everyone looking for a career. If one is content, they are happy with their choices, making it to where every difficult decision, attempt, or brief moment of ‘what am I doing?’ not only worth the effort, but almost humorous in hindsight.
